Canoes are professionally used for transport of people and materials all over the world. Besides canoes are widely used for pleasure racing, whitewater canoeing, touring and camping, freestyle, and general recreation. The intended use of the canoe dictates its hull shape and length and construction material.
In our canoe adventure trips we will paddle the clear waters of the Aegean Sea, relax on deserted beaches, explore the remote, unique and spectacular coastline of Angelology.
We have a selection of single and tandem (double seat) sit on top canoes which are ideal for families, couples and friends. These trips are designed for people with little or no previous experience, but for more experienced kayakers as well, our canoe tours are the ultimate in “soft adventure”.
Snorkeling is the practice of swimming on or through a body of water while equipped with a diving mask, a shaped breathing tube called a snorkel, and usually swimfins. Use of this equipment allows the snorkeler to observe underwater attractions for extended periods with relatively little effort and to breathe while face-down at the surface.
Snorkeling is a popular recreational activity, particularly at tropical resort locations. The primary appeal is the opportunity to observe underwater life in a natural setting without the complicated equipment and training required for scuba diving. It appeals to all ages because of how little effort there is, and without the exhaled bubbles of scuba-diving equipment
SOME OF THE BEST SNORKELING TIPS FOR BEGINNERS
The Best Snorkeling Tips are those that are given to you by the most experienced snorkelers and divers!
Snorkeling is the perfect way to access nature’s most wonderful realms. The ocean remains as one of the best places to exercise both our body and sense of discovery. Also, did you know about the health benefits of snorkeling?
The key to a successful snorkeling trip is to be relaxed. Try not to overanalyze! Practice will make perfection and comfort in the water.
Our experts gave us these tips for any basic snorkeler that will assure you get the basics of this and enjoy a full day worth of snorkeling!
WEAR YOUR MASK PROPERLY
The best snorkeling tip and also one of the most important: Your mask must fit your face. Hold the snorkel mask to your face and breath in through your nose. If the mask seals perfectly and stays in place without holding it, you got it.
If air leaks in, water will to, so make sure it fits! Keep all your hair out of the seal too. Moustaches can be a bit of a problem, so put some chapstick below your nose to get a “gasket” or maybe even consider shaving, if possible.
If the strap fits snugly at the widest area of your head towards the top back, it’s perfect. If you wear it just at the base of your head, water will seep in!
If water ever starts flowing in as you snorkel, reach back and check for the straps place. The water should apply enough pressure to seal the mask into place so don’t wear it too tightly.
Choose a pair of fins that fit in snuggly but never too tight. If they hurt or curl your toes even a tiny bit you may have cramps. It’s always better if your fins are slightly bigger than too small. They will slip on easier once both your feet are wet. Without your fins you won’t swim properly so, try taking this as one of the best snorkeling tips ever too and get your snorkeling in Cancun pants ready!
DEFOG LIKE A CHAMP
Another one in the best snorkeling tips area, is to learn how to defog. There’s no point in going through all the hassle if you don’t really see anything. Some tips to have a defogging material in your lenses are gel products, crushed leaves o even a small drop of Johnson’s Baby Shampoo rinsed with ocean water will keep the defog.
ALWAYS PRACTICE YOUR BREATHING
Practice through your snorkel with your head outside the water before dipping in. Put your mask on and breathe through the tube! Don’t bite the tube, rest your teeth or your jaw will get really sore really fast. Practice some breathing exercises to get you comfortable.
Once you feel confident, and this is also one of the best snorkeling tips; practice the classic calm floating face down in the water. While your at it you’ll see a lot of cool things underwater, this will help you focus.
KNOW YOUR LIMITS
One of the best snorkeling tips that someone could give you is to learn your limitations. This is a vital skill that is often overlooked. There is no good reason to push your limits as you snorkel. These will change and grow as you become more experienced.
A relaxed snorkeler will get lots more pleasure out of snorkeling once you understand and consider all factors such as water temperature, surge, currents and water visibility.
Being relaxed as you snorkel will make you less threatening. This is great, because once the marine wildlife realizes you represent no threat, they will act normal around you which allows you to have a better experience.
Stand up paddle or SUP is an offshoot of surfing that originated in Hawaii. Unlike traditional surfing where the rider sits until a wave comes, stand up paddle boarders stand on their boards and use a paddle to propel themselves through the water. The sport was documented in a 2013 report that identified it as the outdoor sporting activity with the most first-time participants in the United States that year. Variations include flat water paddling for outdoor recreation, fitness, or sightseeing, racing on lakes, large rivers and canals, surfing on ocean waves, paddling in river rapids (whitewater SUP), Paddle board yoga and even fishing.
In our SUP adventure trips we will paddle the clear waters of the area , relax on deserted beaches, explore the remote, unique and spectacular coastline of Angelology.
We have a selection of Stand Up Paddleboards which are ideal for families, couples and friends but for advanced paddlers too. These trips are designed for people with little or no previous experience, but for more experienced paddlers as well, our SUP trips are the ultimate in “soft adventure”.
Your safety is our main concern. At the launch site, you will be given briefing and safety instruction. We will not begin our journey until everyone has a good understanding of how handle a SUP and what to expect once underway. All you need to bring is a bathing suit, a towel, a hat, sunscreen, and you are ready for a day filled with adventure, exercise, and unforgettable beauty.
Practicing yoga on water can seem a little intimidating. After all, many of us find plenty of challenge balancing on land! But before you write off standup paddleboard (SUP) yoga as impossible, here’s what I tell all first-timers: “If you can breathe, you can do yoga. If you can stand on one foot, you can paddle.” Get your feet wet with these SUP poses.
The sport combines hatha yoga and vinyasa yoga asanas, or poses, with surfing. Practitioners may practice on the beach sand or in a swimming pool to gain the strength and flexibility (anatomy) required to maintain the balance and postures on fluid water such as the ocean or a lake. Practitioners can begin by moving through a sequence of yoga postures, or asana, while standing on SUP board.
Connecting with nature. No studio, no air-conditioning, no yoga mats, and best of all, no crowd. Floating on the water, beach, sun, sand, lake, forest – wherever you are, it’s bliss. Silence. Freedom.
Windsurfing is a surface water sport that combines elements of surfing and sailing. It consists of a board powered by wind on a sail.. A suitable activity for everybody, offers a great feeling of freedom and magical connection with nature.
Windsurfing can be said to straddle both the laid-back culture of surf sports and the more rules-based environment of sailing. Although it might be considered a minimalistic version of a sailboat, windsurfing offers experiences that are outside the scope of other sailing craft designs. Windsurfers can perform jumps, inverted loops, spinning maneuvers, and other “freestyle” moves that cannot be matched by any sailboat.
In 1984, windsurfing became the youngest sport ever to be included in the Olympic Games. Since then, windsurfing has always been part of the Olympic sailing competition.
